Cleave was a six day experimental collaboration piece created by Cash Aspeek, Karen Byrne and Anno Mithcell at APT Gallery between 6th and 11th August 2019 as one of the August Collectives commissions. Cleave takes 500 discarded white sheets, discontinued from commercial laundries servicing hospitals and the hospitality industry, and explores the open ended possibilities that fabric brings to fold, tear, stack, pile, stretch. Bouncing between order and disorder and we randomise and explode, contain and categorise to find new uses, forms and spaces; working dynamically with each other and the gallery.
